Dubrovnik, Croatia | Busy little city is everything you could ask for (2-Days)

Hannah Hertog
Small but mighty – this city in Croatia was one of my personal favorites. Ocean meets nightlife. About 2 days is the perfect trip length. Here's how I recommend spending it.

Where to stay

I loved staying at this Airbnb. The private rooftop was amazing and the perfect way to start the morning.

Other lodging options we considered:

Scalini Palace
@feelingtripsy
As always, my top thing to look for is location. This place has it, and more. It also features a rooftop deck.

Day 1

Walk the Walls of Dubrovnik

Pile Gate
@feelingtripsy
Here you will have an opportunity to buy a ticket to walk the walls. I highly recommend doing this. Wear comfortable, cool, clothing and walking sneakers. There isn't much shade, and lots of walking with steps.

This should take you about 2 hours. Take tons of pictures of the incredible views. Stop for some coffee at:

Caffe on the Wall (SV. PETAR)
@feelingtripsy
If you haven't had coffee yet, this is the perfect spot for a pit stop along your walk.

After a long morning of walking, you probably deserve some ice cream or crepes:

Zipline for the Brave Spirit, or Museum for the History Buff

After ice cream, head to the Cable Car station, and purchase a ticket. You can buy them online, but I found it to be super easy to buy them when you arrive. I have heard the line can take 15-20 minutes if you buy on location, but there wasn't anyone there when we went, and then you don't have a ticket to lose all day.

Dubrovnik Cable Car
@feelingtripsy
Hopefully you’re not afraid of heights. This cable car brings you up the hill to the Panorama Restaurant.

Dinner Overlooking Dubrovnik

Return to your lodging to reset before preparing for dinner. Here is my top choice for you. You'll have to hop on a quick cable car again! Get that reservation ahead of time for prime seating.

Restaurant Panorama
@feelingtripsy
HIGHLY recommend making a reservation, and requesting a seat outside with a view. I am so happy we did this. The views are absolutely insane and the food is amazing.

Day 2

Breakfast + Coffee with a View

Nautika
@feelingtripsy
We happened upon this place and it was actually perfect for a quick coffee and breakfast before starting our day. It was nice and quiet early in the day, and we got a perfect seat next to the ocean.

We considered using a walking tour app like GPS My City. I've used this app before and definitely recommend it, but we didn't end up using it on this particular trip. We were wondered on our own time, exploring each of the sites.

Start your tour! Here are the top sights in order. It is important that you finish by noon to catch the bird feeding in the square. 🐦

Fort Bokar
@feelingtripsy
You will have the perfect view of this fort from breakfast yesterday.

Lunch in the square

Gunduliceva Poljana Market
@feelingtripsy
Arrive before noon and find a spot to have your lunch looking at the square. At noon, a huge swarm of pigeons fly down and are fed. It was quite a spectacle!

Drinks on the cliff to end your trip

Buža Bar
@feelingtripsy
Kind of hard to find. It took us a moment to realize how to enter the bar. This place can get really busy for sunset, but by the time the sun was down people start clearing out.

Love Game of Thrones? There are tons of Game of Thrones themed tours for you! I personally went and found the "Shame" staircase (watchers of the show will know what I'm referring to).
