One of the oldest covered bridges in Europe, Kapellbrücke is central to a Lucerne and was built in the 1300s and still features beautiful frescoes among the wooden beams.

The Lion Monument, or the Lion of Lucerne, is a rock relief in Lucerne, Switzerland, designed by Bertel Thorvaldsen and hewn in 1820–21 by Lukas Ahorn. PHENOMENAL northern Italian food reflective of what can be found on the border between Italy/Switzerland. Even after 5+ trips to Italy, I was delighted and surprised. If you’re extra nice, the chef might even show you where they hang and dry their own aged meats and other delicious goodies in the cellar below the restaurant.

I had the most incredible “alpine” Mac and cheese of my life here in 2016. It’s a perfect stop on the way down in the gondola to Weggis, with beautiful views.

Though not in Lucerne itself, it is a stunning resort and spa perched above Lake Lucerne with sweeping views on the town and lake below #bucketlist
