Taverna Maui
@caitlingalang
The best italian restaurant on the island (my boyfriend is the sous chef here but I swear I’m not biased). Definitely try the carbonara! But if you’re eating here for lunch, I suggest the burger.

One of my FAVORITE coffee shops on the island. I recommend the honeybee latte (w/ extra honey & soy milk) and the avocado toast!

Wailuku Coffee Company
@caitlingalang
Another one of my favorite coffee shops. My recommendation would either be an iced carmilla latte or an iced mocha. They also have great food options, I usually get the house-made biscuit egg sandwich, it also has bacon and a sriracha cheddar.

Maui Coffee Roasters

Anddd another coffee shop. I don’t come here too often but the iced creamy caramel is delicious!

Mo 'Ono Hawaiʻi Acai Bowls
@caitlingalang
Without a doubt the best acai bowls on the island. I always have to add likiko’i butter & extra granola. Trust me it’s SO GOOD!

Westside Boba
@caitlingalang
One of my favorite boba spots on the island. I suggest the biscoff milk tea w/ pastillas, it’s REALLY sweet but so good.

Tasaka Guri Guri Shop
@caitlingalang
How can you come to Maui and not get guri guri? I always suggest getting mixed flavors so you can try both, but my personal favorite is the pineapple. But be aware that this place is CASH ONLY!

Kihei Food Oasis
@caitlingalang
A food truck park, there’s so many options here! Not only that but the atmosphere is really nice, it’s on the same property as a botanical garden. There’s also a lot of tables/seats so you won’t need to worry about where to sit & eat. But really, this place has everything (pizza, burgers, wings, sushi, ramen, thai, indian, canadian, & more)!

Maui Sunday Market
@caitlingalang
A food truck pop-up every Sunday from 4p - 8p. But I suggest getting there earlier (by 6p), some food trucks will definitely close early and/or run out of stock. There’s also some small, local businesses selling other items (jewelry, tees, stickers, etc.) to support (:

Belle Surf Cafe & Lounge
@caitlingalang
Haven’t tried this location yet, but I used to go to the one on Front Street all the timeee! They had the best iced caramel latte I’ve ever had (not exaggerating), so I can only hope that this location will taste just as good.

Esters Fair Prospect
@caitlingalang
21+ bar. The vibes are so good in here! I recommend the “only fans” drink, and their guac & chips make the perfect bar snack.

Places to Go:

Slaughterhouse Beach
@caitlingalang
This place is a little far, but so worth it. Warning: the waves can get a little crazy & there’s a good amount of stairs you’ll need to climb up/down to get to the beach.

Details
Kapalua Cliff House
@caitlingalang
A really good spot if you like cliff jumping, there’s no shore (just rocks).

Thompson Road
@caitlingalang
LOVE this place! You can walk along the road or simply just park your car on the side. Gives a really nice view of the island & is perfect for daytime, sunrise/sunset, and stargazing (literally anytime of day)! This place is never busy, just a few people walking along. Oprah also lives here… so you’ll get to see her really nice house and there’s usually a couple of horses in the front.

Haleakalā National Park
@caitlingalang
Above the clouds & looks like heaven, really. If you plan to come here for sunrise, you’ll need reservations. But I recommend sunset, it’s just as nice and you won’t need to drive back down with the morning sun shining in your eyes (that always bothered me).

Baby Beach, Sprecklesville Area
@caitlingalang
A really nice beach with a reef wall/break wall so the waves are never big (hence the name baby beach). I suggest going earlier in the morning (before 11am) since it tends to get pretty windy by the afternoon.

Ali'i Kula Lavender
@caitlingalang
Lavender farm w/ a cute cafe and gift shop! It’s also where poli poli is, so you could continue driving (past the lavender farm) to get to the top for a really nice view (stop before the trees, not much to see after that & eventually you’ll need 4wd).

4th Marine Division Memorial Park
@caitlingalang
AKA “giggle hill.” A really nice & large park, perfect for a picnic and I love going on the swings here (yes, I know it’s for kids but I don’t care).

Whalers Village
@caitlingalang
Small shopping mall. I usually come here to eat at Leilani’s or to grab boba from Teazentea (the best boba on the island). If you’re gonna go to Teazentea, I suggest the Okinawa brown sugar w/ cheese foam. There’s also an Aloha Collection store here!

Charley Young Beach
@caitlingalang
A pretty nice beach, the waves here are usually pretty calm & there’s showers available for afterwards!
Add to
Details
Palauea Beach
@caitlingalang
One of my favorite beaches. The waves here can get rough at times, but this beach is usually pretty empty. Unfortunately, there’s no showers here.

Ho'okipa Lookout
@caitlingalang
A really good spot to just watch the waves (: the beach below is also really nice, and you’ll most likely see turtles on the shore here! Just be sure not to get too close & DO NOT TOUCH THEM!

Waihee Ridge Trail
@caitlingalang
Personally, I’ve never been on this hike because I’m just not a hiking person. But if you are, I’ve heard a lot of good things about this trail & the views look really nice.

The Duck Pond
@caitlingalang
This is a hike I’ve actually been on, which means it’s pretty easy. I wouldn’t even consider this a hike, just a short walking trail. There’s multiple trails to choose from as well, some being easier/harder than others. At the end you’ll find a pond with some ducks, so be sure to bring some food for them! However I don’t suggest bread since it messes with their digestive system, I always bring sunflower seeds when I come here.
