Historic sites to visit
This city is full of emblematic sites that you should not miss during your visit, here we compile some of them:

Tasting Madrid
The delicious Madrid cuisine invites you to sit at the table in restaurants, bars and terraces to try some of its typical dishes such as squid sandwiches, patatas bravas or potato omelette. Here are some great places to taste all of those:

Madrid in celebration
Madrid is a city full of celebrations. Among the many festivals in the city, two are especially important: San Isidro Festival and La Almudena Festival.
In these festivals, both locals and visitors can experience the city's exciting and festive spirit.
San Isidro festivity (15th of May)
The San Isidro Labrador festivities celebrate the city's patron saint with music, traditional dances, fairs, gastronomy and religious events. It is tradition to:
• Go on a pilgrimage to drink the "saint's water" that flows from a spring attached to the hermitage of San Isidro.
• Madrid residents enjoy having a picnic together in the Pradera de San Isidro.
• Chotis, a traditional dance, is danced in the streets.
Almudena festivals (9th of November)
The image of the Virgin is carried through the streets of the center of Madrid in a procession that starts from the Cathedral and runs through several emblematic squares and streets of the city.
Beyond the capital
Although Madrid is an incredible city on its own, its nearby towns and landscapes are also great for day trips and short excursions.
Alcalá de Henares, city of Arts and Letters.
Just 40 minutes away from the capital. Discover the place where Miguel de Cervantes was born and the Complutense University. This city, a World Heritage Site, was essential in the history of the Spanish language.
Aranjuez, truly unique.
A city located in the south of Madrid on the banks of the Tagus River. It's famous for its Royal Palace and lush gardens. Declared a Cultural Landscape UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's a perfect destination to enjoy nature, culture, and tranquility.
San Juan Reservoir,"Madrid's beach"
A spectacular set of waterfalls located in the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. The route to the waterfalls is approximately 12 km (round trip) and of medium difficulty, passing through pine and oak forests, meadows, and the Aguilón River.
Transport in madrid
I chose three of the most and important methods of transport in madrid
Metro : One of the largest metro networks in Europe, with 12 lines connecting the entire city and even reaching the airport. It is fast, affordable, and convenient.
Cercanías (Commuter Trains) : Ideal for traveling to nearby towns like Alcalá de Henares and Aranjuez. It connects Madrid with its suburbs and beyond.
Buses – Operated by EMT, Madrid’s buses cover areas not accessible by metro. Night buses (búhos) are available for late-night travel.
