Dublin is so great to visit as it is so close if you're based in the UK, and flights are usually pretty cheap too. This itinerary is based on flying in on the morning and flying out the afternoon the following day. As a hospitality worker, I rarely get 2 days off in a row so when I do, I make the most of it!

Day 1 - Morning

Most of this was spent flying and waiting for transport into the city centre of Dublin. The Dublin Express is an easy way to get into the city, I would advise booking a return ticket as I didn't and struggled to get the bus ticket back to the airport as they don't sell them onboard. If you're not able to do this then you can easily buy your ticket online too, I just prefer a physical copy for my travel journal!

Day 1 - Afternoon

Rick Steve's Audio Tours

I highly recommend the Rick Steve Audio Tours, you learn so much at your own pace and with an easy-to-follow map so you won't get lost. I spent about an hour following this tour, taking me round places I otherwise might have missed.

Guinness Storehouse

Is your trip to Dublin without trying a Guinness in the Brewery? I don't think so.

Get your tickets online (linked below) or you can buy them at the desk if you prefer, there was no queue for buying tickets there (although I did go at 3pm on a Wednesday!).

Explore the history of the famous beer, and discover how it got such international fame, as well as the controversial induction of the logo. Once you've explored the 7 floors, make your way to the skybar for a free pint of Guinness and enjoy the views of the city and beyond.

Day 1 - Evening

Now you've walked around enough to build an appetite, lets go get some food and then explore the best of Irish culture - the pubs!!

Day 2 - Morning

Now, depending on how many of those pubs you went to the night before, you may or may not be up and about in the morning.

Howth

If, however, you are mostly not hungover then I would highly recommend a trip to the seaside town of Howth. The gorgeous cliff side walk was a great hangover cure for me, even if it was a battle to get out of bed to make it there.

Day 2 - Afternoon

National Leprechaun Museum of Ireland

This museum takes you through Ireland's history of storytelling and folklore, and the staff really make you feel as though you're living through it all. If you want to learn more about Irish culture then I would recommend going here.
