Sandy Boreal Campsite
@venture4wd
Just west of Timmins, Ontario, this primitive, dispersed campsite is on a lightly traveled two-track, only a few miles from pavement. There aren't any other campsites along the road as established as this one. It is possibly an old sand pit that was put to disuses decades ago, and now, it's just a clearing among the trees, tucked off to the side of the road, with a well-maintained fire ring. It was a very quet site, very private, with enough room for one or two vehicles, and pretty good cell service. It is along a smooth, gentle track accessible by any vehicle, although the campsite itself is squeezed between some trees, so I don't recommend much bigger than a camper van. I definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a place to stay near Timmins. It is perfectly suitable for an extended stay, but I'm not sure what else is in the area, as I was just passing through.

Site 9 at Missinaibi Campground
@venture4wd
This is possibly the best campsite within the campground at Missinaibi Lake. It is tucked away down a short lane, in the woods and away from all of the other site, although they are still in earshot. All of the other campsites are adjacent to each other with far less privacy. Site 9 features a private walking path to the pit toilets, a private walking path to the lake, two picnic tables, a fire ring, and a bear box. There is enough room for two vehicles, and ground tents. It is wooded, so there isn't much of a view, but the lake is just a short stroll away. There is absolutely no cell service, but the gatehouse at the entrance of the campground does have working wifi if you need connectivity in a pickle. If you plan on visiting Missinaibi Provincial Park, bring a boat, as it's best known for boating and fishing. Alternative, campsite 7 is located on a peninsular right by the water and has both privacy and an amazing view! Shoot for 7 first, then 9.

Island Site B4 at Missinaibi
@venture4wd
This is a designated backcountry tent site, located on an island only a couple of miles from the boat launch, and I did not spend the night here, although it would have been a lovely place to do so. This site can be reserved through Missinaibi Provincial Park, and is paddle-up only. It features a small bay, suitable for swimming, a primitive stone fire ring, and a picnic table. There are a couple of flat spots suitable for ground tents, and a wooded area with a pit toilet. The campsite is located on a small peninsula on the island, with great views to both the north and the south. It would be a great place to spend the night while on a paddling adventure!

Site 337 at Agawa Bay
@venture4wd
This is one of the southernmost campsites at Agawa Bay Campground in Lake Superior Provincial Park, in Ontario. It is in the woods, the second row in from the water, and across the road, so while you still might have a great view of the lake in a rooftop tent, you might see other campers in front of you. It is a primitive tent site suitable for one or two vehicles, with a metal fire ring and a picnic table. This is in the quiet area, so there are no generators or music in this loop; although I didn't hear generators or music absolutely anywhere in the campground. There is a pit toilet just a short walk from camp, and a shower house down the road just a little bit farther. The road is lined with numerous potable water spigots. Accessible by any vehicle, this would be ideal for a camper van, despite lack of hook-ups. Come in September for smaller crowds and phenomenal weather. All of the guests were very social and friendly. It was a wonderful campground experience!

Idyllic Autumn River
@venture4wd
I was following a logging road through Chapleau Game Preserve and it passed through a dip. At the bottom of the dip, I peered north through the trees, and saw this idyllic stream with waterfalls and fall foliage. The surrounding area is otherwise unremarkable, but this river is a little slice of heaven. I enjoyed walking along the rocks next to the waterfalls. I would have liked to explore it further. I am recording it here so I remember to come back! I'm sure it's beautiful in every season.
