Main reasons to visit the Istria Peninsula

- Beautiful towns with lovely and historical city centers

- Nice beaches and national parks

- Those cities are less crowded than other cities like Split and Dubronik

- It is also cheaper that the cities in the south of Croatia

- As Istria Peninsula is next to Italy, you will find very good Italian gastronomy

Day 1 - Rovinj

Rovinj is the first stop on this short trip. You can walk and enjoy the city center and also visit some of the beaches around.

I recommend you reserve a hotel in Rovinj to visit both Rovinj and Porec from there.

Rovinj
@lauravargas
Rovinj is a small city situated in the Adriatic Sea. The city has a picturesque and charming city center with amazing views of the coast. As it had a lot of influence from Venetians in the past, this city seems like Italy in some senses. Go and discover it!

Day 2 - Day trip to Porec

Porec is another small town located 45 mins by car to the north from Rovinj.

I recommend visiting the town as a one-day trip from Rovinj, walking the city center, enjoying a nice restaurant and visiting the Basilica.

Bonus - Brijuni National Park

If you want to spend more days in the Istria Peninsula and love plans in nature or want to skip any of the recommendations above, I recommend visiting Brijuni National Park.

As it is an Island, depending on the month you're traveling keep in mind if ferry schedules match your plans or if you have to stay a night there.
