Near Orlando
Tropical Palms RV Resort
@travelingwithcva
Just 10 minutes from Disney, this campground is soo fun and cute!
There are 343 RV spots as well as small cabins for rent - awesome for a break.
Resort-style pool, tons of activities - including our favorite, bingo!
Relatively easy to book - even a couple weeks in advance. You could PROBABLY just roll up and have A spot, but might not be able to get a full hookup.
If you're planning to stay a month or two, you might want to book 3 months in advance.

Orlando RV Resort
@travelingwithcva
This spot is about 30 minutes from Disney. More remote, definitely cheaper than our top rec.
It does have some major drawbacks in our book:
1. It's first-come, first-serve, so while you may be able to get a spot, you need to be there early to get in line. They open up spots at NOON every day, and the good ones fill up.
We saw some people waiting in the parking lot at Publix and they got in line right at 11:55 from there, so you can try that.
2. The service is BAD. Your best bet is to go RIGHT from the entrance and go as far as you can towards the cell towers you'll see there. Otherwise, you'll need to come to the clubhouse to get the wifi there.
Only T-Mobile works.

Near Tampa
Lazydays RV Resort
@travelingwithcva
Tons of amenities! Pool is screened in and is resort-style, including a hot tub. Has a gym, a restaurant on-site. It also includes free breakfast!
Lots of activities - including bingo of course! They also have movie nights.
It's about 15-20 minutes to Tampa, and also about 20-30 minutes to lots of different beaches.
It's a very spacious campground - easy to open up your awning.
Park in the back of the campground to get away from highway noise.
Pretty easy to book - especially if you are under 40 feet.

Exit 10 Restaurant and Pub
@travelingwithcva
We love this place! It's right next to Lazydays RV resort (and, you guessed it, Exit 10 from the highway). It's cool because it's actually inside an old RV!
It's also affordable food, affordable drinks, and it's connected to their pool at the RV resort.

North of Tampa
Breezy Oaks RV Park
@travelingwithcva
About an hour north of Tampa.
Not a ton to do nearby - there's a famous cemetery or a battlefield.
This is a good back-up option if you can't find something elsewhere.

Odd Cuples Cafe

Easy breakfast or lunch. Good diner food owned by an older couple. Coffee mugs all over the walls!

South of Tampa
Peace River RV & Camping Resort
@travelingwithcva
Pretty isolated resort - right on the Peace River. Good for a more outdoorsy experience, and lots of people were doing river activities, like kayaking and fishing.
If you want to get into nature but not on the water, the resort has a huge 2-mile perimeter walking trail.
The closest town is only a couple stores. The closest bigger town is Sebring.
Still has great activities: a nice pool, bingo, pickleball courts, shuffleboard, group walks, food trucks, ice cream socials - TONS of stuff to do.
First-come, first-serve. Some sites don't have sewer, and lots of sites are only 30-amp (especially in the back). They run a lottery at 2pm every day to move people to a site with sewage.
1 free pump-out, but after that you have to pay $15 per time.

Faded Bistro & Beer Garden
@travelingwithcva
AMAZING restaurant in an old plant nursery, with major greenhouse vibes.
The food is all farm to table and everything looked amazing. We had the fresh fish of the day, pork tacos, blueberry cobbler, and it was all great.
Brunch every Sunday 9-2. Unlimited bloody marys & mimosas.

Extra Time?
If you're near or South of Tampa, you HAVE to check out Siesta Key! We loved it. Here are our top spots for an awesome day trip there.
How we drink filtered water wherever we go (we love our Berkey! Up to 7 years using the same filter and saves so much money not buying water bottles or new filters):
