Original Elephant House
The original Elephant House burnt down in 2021 but is set to reopen very soon!
The café is famously known as the place where J.K. Rowling wrote parts of the early Harry Potter books. The ambiance and the views inspired her, making it a pilgrimage site for fans of the series.

In the meantime, they opened a second location where you can get butterbeer! Situated on the picturesque Victoria Street, The Elephant House offers stunning views of the city and is conveniently located near major attractions like the Royal Mile and Greyfriars Kirkyard.
Greyfriars Kirkyard Cemetery
Established in the 16th century, Greyfriars Kirkyard is one of Edinburgh’s most famous graveyards. The graveyard is believed to have inspired J.K. Rowling while she was writing the Harry Potter series. Notable names on the gravestones, such as "Tom Riddle" (a variant of Voldemort’s name), and "McGonagall" (for Professor Minerva McGonagall) can be found here.

Calton Hill

Arthur's Seat
