Film Languages and Subtitles

Most films in Lisbon are shown in their original language with Portuguese subtitles. This is great news for international visitors who can enjoy films in English, French, Spanish, and more without dubbing. At some festivals you will see Portuguese subtitles on the bottom of the screen and English on top. Check the film and call the theatre to ask. YES! They will know how to speak English 😀

Booking Tickets

Many cinemas offer online booking options, making it convenient to secure your spot. Some festivals also have special offers to purchase general admission tickets ahead of time and then exchange them once you are at the theater. And if you don't prebook, no worries, it should be fine for every festival except the Indie Lisboa festival.
