Exploring Munich
The next morning started with incredible coffee at a cozy vegan bakery. Then, we explored the historic Munich Residence before setting off on our drive southward to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. Our stay at the luxurious Ameron Alpsee Resort, with its stunning views of the Bavarian Alps, was a highlight. We spent two nights there, giving us time to visit both Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau Castles.

Neuschwanstein Castle
@kevintrumble
To reach the castle, taking the bus is the most convenient option, with tickets available for purchase directly from the driver. It’s recommended to avoid the horse-drawn carriages, as the animals often appear overworked, and the presence of horse droppings can detract from the experience. Opting for the bus ensures a quick and pleasant journey while maintaining a cleaner, more enjoyable environment.

Our journey then took us through Austria and Vaduz Liechtenstein and into Switzerland, where we drove through the breathtaking Swiss Alps. The views were unreal, with curvy roads winding around majestic peaks. Our next stop was the charming lakeside town of Locarno, Switzerland. The Bustling Streets of Milan
Driving to Milan was an adventure of its own. Kevin, who has driven in many places, said navigating Milan’s bustling streets was one of the most challenging experiences yet. Once we returned the rental car, we explored Milan by subway. We visited the stunning Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the iconic Duomo di Milano, and the Santa Maria delle Grazie church, where we saw the world-famous *The Last Supper*. Milan left quite an impression on us with its beauty and vibrant energy.
Milan
@kevintrumble
Driving in and around Milan can be challenging, especially if you don't speak Italian, as the numerous one-way streets and complex roadways can be confusing. However, the city's public transportation system is highly efficient and straightforward to navigate, making it the preferred option for getting around.
