I traveled to Split by train, which I recommend due to the main station's convenient location.
As always, I highly recommend dropping off your bags at your accommodation before doing the majority of sightseeing to avoid overexertion. If you aren't spending the night in Split, there is a left-luggage storage location at Split port.
Now that you have dropped off your luggage, it's time to begin exploring!
