Lewisburg, West Virginia
We camped near Lewisburg to be in proximity to the Greenbrier River rail-to-trail system to train for a bike ride we had upcoming. The trail was fantastic and we highly recommend, but please note you’ll need a gravel, hybrid, or mountain bike for the packed gravel terrain.

Greenbrier River Campground, Cabins and River Trips

This site was beautiful! We were nestled within the trees with a view of the river. The train track ran alongside the opposite side of the river and was quite loud, but we enjoyed it. The bathrooms were clean & felt very safe. Overall highly recommend!

POMONA Salt Cave and Spa
@livininluna
The appropriate title for this is “be” 🙏✨ we visited the salt cave as a recommendation from a local - we made an appointment an hour before we showed up. It was a calming & unique experience. We slept better after than we had in awhile.

Beartown State Park
@livininluna
This park is stunning & contains a mile-ish long boardwalk throughout the forest. The drive up is steep & narrow but we made it just fine in our van. I’m usually scared of bears and for a place called “Beartown”, it felt very safe & mutually respectful with the boardwalk. We spotted an owl mid-morning & found it to be a sign of wisdom & good fortune.

Greenbrier River Trail
@livininluna
We LOVED this trail. It’s a 77-ish mile one way trail. We did 10-mile our & backs from the southern terminus near Lewisburg, West Virginia. The best maps are online & you can find other locations along the trail to park and hop on. Be mindful of the remote areas without cell service. Highly recommend packing in food, water & supplies/tools, just in case. We saw a black racer snake (it wanted nothing to do with us), and met a friend named Al who gave us his old copy of the printed trail map.

A New Chapter Bookstore
@livininluna
I bought a signed copy of “Called Again” by Jennifer Pharrell-Davis, the women’s record holder for fastest Appalachian Trail hike. The bookstore was nice for its selection of books, but we didn’t so much enjoy the energy to hang out (they had a small coffee bar available).

We bought kombucha on tap here & it was delicious! They had a great variety of natural & organic grocery items for sale, too.

Thunderbird Tacos

So, this place was amazing. We heard they have the best margaritas but we didn’t learn this until after our visit. Highly recommend & don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu!

Corn+Flour
@livininluna
MUST VISIT HERE AT LEAST ONCE …. or daily. We had the BEST bagels & spreads we’ve ever had at this place (both of us!). My favorite was the jalapeño cheddar bagel with pimento cheese spread. I dream about it often … still.

Stardust Cafe
@livininluna
MUST VISIT! We made this a date night visit & highly recommend the treat-yourself-say-yes-to-life-abundance kind of mindset. We ordered starters, a main course, wine, dessert, espresso …. The vibe was an eclectic-unique-classy-downtoearth energy. You will not regret any choices you make here. Staff was incredible. Menu was farm to table & changes with the seasons & local availability.

Cathedral Cafe & Book Store
@livininluna
The best cinnamon roll we've ever had (each of us!) was at the Cathedral Cafe. Even if you're not into sweets, they have a lot of great local food and coffee. Not to mention the location itself beautiful with the stained glass, and it buzzes with the local energy.
