After a long flight, we have finally arrived at Kundasang International Airport. As we make our way towards the exit, we can't wait to get our rental car and continue our journey through this beautiful part of Malaysia.
Our first stop in Kundasang is the picturesque town itself. It feels like stepping into a postcard with rolling hills, charming houses, and cozy lodges. We couldn't resist stopping to take some pictures, even though there was no one else around. It was like having the town all to ourselves.
Next, we arrived at our accommodation for the next three nights. The competition to find the perfect spot was tough, but we found a great place with stunning views. The only downside was the foggy weather, but it didn't stop us from capturing some amazing shots and time-lapse videos. Now, it's time to indulge in a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.
Captivated by Cultural Performances
As we explore Kundasang, we stumble upon a cluster of traditional cultural performances happening nearby. Intrigued, we decide to join in and immerse ourselves in the local culture. The dancers and musicians captivate us with their graceful movements and vibrant music. It's a truly enchanting experience.
Alpaca Club: Breakfast with a Twist
Starting our day early, we head to Alpaca Club for breakfast. This unique café offers a variety of dishes, but what caught our attention were the alpacas roaming around. Yes, you read that right! We enjoyed our meal while watching these adorable animals go about their day. It was a truly unforgettable dining experience.
Exploring War Memorials and Gardens
Continuing our journey, we visit the War Memorial in Kundasang. This historical site pays tribute to those who lost their lives during the war. The memorial is a solemn place, and reading the names engraved on the walls reminds us of the sacrifices made. We also take a stroll through the nearby garden, a peaceful sanctuary where we can reflect on the past.
Conquering Silicon Hill
We wake up early in the morning and embark on a hike to the peak of Silicon Hill. The promise of a breathtaking view of Kundasan motivates us to push through the challenging trail. As we reach the top, we are rewarded with a panoramic vista of the entire town. We take a moment to appreciate the beauty surrounding us before making our way back down.
Seafood Delights and Filipino Market
As the sun sets, we find ourselves at Tanjung Aru Beach, searching for a good seafood restaurant. The aroma of grilled seafood fills the air as we indulge in a feast of fresh catches. Satisfied, we decide to visit the Filipino Market, a bustling hub of local vendors selling a variety of goods. We explore the market, picking up souvenirs and immersing ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere.
Farewell to Kundasang, Hello Kota Kinabalu
Our time in Kundasan comes to an end, and we make our way back to Kota Kinabalu. The journey back is filled with laughter and memories. We arrive in KK, bidding farewell to the beautiful landscapes of Kundasan.
Marimaricultural Village and Beyond
In Kota Kinabalu, we visit Marimaricultural Village, an immersive cultural experience that allows us to learn about the traditions and customs of the local tribes. We engage in traditional activities and witness captivating performances that leave us in awe.

As the trip comes to a close, we reflect on the memories we have made in Kundasan and Kota Kinabalu. From the stunning views of the mountains to the cultural immersion, it has been an incredible adventure. We have discovered the beauty of Sabah, Malaysia, and experienced the warmth of its people.
