V16E4: Camper Resto and a Switch-Pro

Christopher Shontz
More tinkering this week, as I work hard to restore my long-time home on wheels. In this episode, I focus on upholstery work, which includes a comfortable new mattress, and I also change how my fog lights are activated, using a new switch panel. This board contains resources for this week’s improvements, and a restaurant of note!

Accessory Outfitters
@venture4wd
Accessory Outfitters hosted my Jeep during its six-month hiatus in Portland, Oregon. While they didn’t perform the engine work, after the engine was replaced, they were the ones who recommended the Switch-Pro 9100, a smart new switch panel with which to tidy up my wiring. These guys are extremely smart, professional, and I’m looking forward to working with them again!

Luck of the draw. I needed a shop to do some upholstery work on the Jeep, and I did some Googling for options in the area, and these guys came up. They re-glued the headliner in Orangie, repaired my torn seat, and custom-built a new 3” mattress in my camper. They did a great job on all fronts, and were very professional, courteous, and timely. True craftsmen.

Good eats…

Three Brothers Grill Authentic Mexican Grill
@venture4wd
In charming, downtown Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, Three Brothers is a small, counter-serve Mexican restaurant. We found the meals to be very delicious, and extremely filling. My wet burrito was the size of a small dog, but I ate it anyway, gastro-distress be damned. While it was fresh and well-prepared, I only wished the sauce was a little spicier. Then it would have been perfect!

A short outtake from this episode. Having just wired my fog lights to the Switch-Pro 9100, I configured the factory fog-light switch to serve as a trigger, or an alternate means of activating switch number six.
