The Commerce Inn
@perfectlyflawedwoman
A Shaker Inspired Early American tavern and cookery from esteemed West Village chefs Rita Sodi and Jody Williams of Buvette, and Via Carota! Elavated, heirloom recipes honoring the history and architecture of the 1900's West Village.
I always appreciate the attention to detail Sodi and Williams create in their restaurants. The Commerce Inn does not disappoint!
Sharing? The menu screams family style, community!
The cocktails are reminiscent of a bygone era. Try the Milk Punch or House Martini.
And don’t skimp on dessert!

Jack's Wife Freda
@perfectlyflawedwoman
From the website because I just love this... “If you were going to give the cuisine a long and unwieldy name, it might be South African Israeli Jewish Grandmother Cuisine.”
Such a fun-spirited feeling is Jack's Wife Freda. You must read the About Us, but to sum it up, it's a double immigrant and food love story. A must go IMHO.
First come, first serve all day, welcoming parties of all sizes.

Joseph Leonard
@perfectlyflawedwoman
A casual, neighborhood spot serving seasonal American fare in a cozy, welcoming setting. A few bar seats, and tables are set aside to welcome Walk-in's, but arrive early to avoid a longer wait.

Via Carota
@perfectlyflawedwoman
Oozing with Tuscan countryside, Via Carota honors old-world Italian roots, life style, food and décor.
A favorite of mine! The food is beautiful and deeply satisfying. I love to sit at the bar sipping Montenegro on the rocks slowly. My go to order is Acciughe E Burro, Ribollita, Insalata Verde, and Tonnarelli.
Walk-in's are always welcome, but they fill up quickly and the wait can be long, so get there early or head over to their sister bar Pisellino, across the street, while you wait. Or you can dip into Arthur's Tavern for live jazz next door.
