Day 1

We started our first half of the day at the Country Music Hall of Fame. From here we walked a few blocks to the center of down town for lunch at Hattie B's Hot Chicken. After eating we walked past the capitol building on our way to Centennital Park. We enjoyed walking around the pond and among the flowers. It was a hot day of 100F so we took an uber back to the airport once we had secured tickets for the Grand Ole Opry. The Grand Ole Opry was the highlight of the trip for us. There is a mall nearby so we got something quick to eat there before. The Grand Ole Opry is not near down town and you will need a 20-30 minute uber to get there and back to down town.

Day 2

The second day we changed plans from the Jack Daniel's Whiskey tour to walking around and exploring down town more to sleep in and take things slower. We walked down broadway to walk into stores and listen to live music from bars. It was another hot day (100+F) so we spent as much time as we could inside where it was air conditioned. Check the itinerary for more ideas of what to do.

Day 3

We started the day with a walk across the river on the bridge to look back at the city. On the walk to the other side we saw the Nissan Stadium, home of the Tennessee Titans. After this 2-3 mile walk it was time for us to fly back home.

Because of the high heat, high humidity, and high UV index while we were there we didn't get to do as many things as we wanted such as kayaking on the water or walking through other parks, but Nashville was still a good time that many people of many ages enjoyed. The only other thing we want to note to other travelers is that there were a lot of homeless people around downtown/Broadway, some of whom were aggressive- throwing trash into the street or spitting at people. It was an unfortunate experience and we hope one other's don't experience but do want to share as we were surprised by this.
