Your Perfect 1-Day Adventure in Istria

We were lucky enough to stay and base ourselves for 3 nights at Meneghetti Wine Hotel near Bale village.

After, eating a very complete breakfast composed of a complementary charcuterie and cheese platter and with a platter of viennoiseries. You can order any dish that they have on the breakfast menu. It is a real treat to have breakfast at Meneghetti Wine Hotel.

Then, we decided to headed out to visit the village of Bale.

Re del Gelato in Fazana is renowned for its delicious gelato and wide range of flavors. We tried the hazelnut gelato, and it was absolutely delightful. You can really sense the Italian influence in this part of Croatia, with many locals speaking Italian during our visit.

Finally, head to Pula, a vibrant city rich in history, and enjoy dinner at Restaurant Vodnjanka. While you're in Pula, be sure to explore the city and visit the renowned Pula Arena, one of the best-preserved Roman amphitheaters.

Explore the old town, meandering through its narrow streets and uncovering ancient Roman ruins such as the Temple of Augustus and the Arch of the Sergii.

I highly recommend joining a free walking tour in Pula to explore the city's highlights and gain valuable historical insights about both the city and the broader region of Croatia. We opted for "Free Spirit Tours" and had an exceptional guide who made the experience truly memorable.
