4-day Escape to Shenandoah Valley

4-day Escape to Shenandoah Valley

The Power of Solitude: A Restorative Escape to Shenandoah Valley Sometimes, the best gift we can give ourselves is time alone. For my birthday, I spent four days in a mini cabin in Shenandoah Valley, fully embracing solitude, reflection, and nature. With no distractions, I journaled freely, allowing my thoughts to unfold without interruption. Each morning, I stepped outside to breathe in the crisp air, surrounded by towering trees and peaceful trails—nature’s way of reminding me to slow down. Spending time alone isn’t about loneliness; it’s about reconnecting with yourself. Whether through journaling, meditating, or simply listening to the rustling leaves, solitude fosters clarity and renewal. Shenandoah provided the perfect backdrop to reflect on the past year and set intentions for the future. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, I highly recommend taking a solo retreat—just you, your thoughts, and the beauty of nature.

I'm based just outside of Washington, DC., and love to present a mix of local adventures with international excursions. Together we can find hidden jewels in your hometown or get you to try a dish you can't pronounce! The world is too large to limit yourself to normal. I love watching people build their confidence through intentional travel and seeing themselves as capable, worthy, and curious aka willing to learn. The guides I create reflect the clarity and joy I experience when I travel and I offer my suggestions of how you can accomplish the same. So, if you are a nervous traveler or you want to expand your travel journey out of the country, I'll be your guide! A little history, travel has been a habit since I was a kid - my parents are missionaries and we traveled coast-to-coast across the States and to West Africa. Now I am based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA where I encourage others to define their unique growth journey through my company, the Amethyst Palaver Hut LLC.
