A Perfect Day in Palma
Where is Palma?
Palma is situated in the west of Mallorca and the Islands capital city and home to the major port for the island, making it a very popular stop for cruise ships.

The port is Palma is large- however it is most common for cruise ships to dock in the south section of the port.Ā Most Cruise lines will offer a shuttle bus to take you into the centre of Palma, often droppingĀ you near the cathedral.Ā This guide is designed so that you do not need to book an excursion, you can explore yourself, so pop your trainers on (there is lots of walking!)Ā Or filing that I have listed at the bottom some cost effective tours
The first stop is the wonderful Castell de Bellver, be warned this is situated on the top of a hill so it can be a sweaty walk, however when you get to the top the views are certainly worth it!
Now as we are doing this day on foot there is alot of walking involved, so you may as well make it interesting!Ā My next stop was The Marina in Palma, however I chose to get there by taking in some of sections slightly further back from the port, this is so worth doing as the architecture is really lovely, there are also many moderately priced cafes and coffee shops as the ones in the centre and the marina are quite pricey
The next stop is continue along the Marina and head towards the Catedral Basilica, there are so many ways to view this most stunning building, so take some time to view from down by the port and walking around the building itself
Leading from top section sends your straight into Palma old town, there are so many winding streets with interesting souvenir shops and boutiques to explore along the way.
Wind your way along these captivating streets to Plaza Major
When you have finsihed in the Old Town then head back towards the port via La Rambla the stuning tree lines street will take you back towards the Marina
When you reach the marina, continue alongside the port to head back towards where you are docked

IF you are lucky enough to be in Palma for more than one day then i hugely recommend visiting Puerto Portals just outside of Palma- it is the most beautiful Marina and has the best burger bar ever- Wellies!
