You’re probably nearer than you think, so might as well!

📍Located in the surroundings of Lisbon

🚊Accessible through a 40min train journey from Cais do Sodré, Lisbon (€4,60 return ticket)

🌤️ It feels as hot as Lisbon but you have the breeze from the sea and there’s actual beaches you can get refreshed in so you’re not just getting dehydrated in the city…

Seafood and fish

Cascais is a fishermen town! This is where you’ll find the freshest and most delicious seafood and fish in the surroundings of Lisbon.

In the guide below I give you my personal favourite restaurants (most of them are fish restaurants):

The beautiful beaches

Whether you’re going for a beach day or just a walk around town, we have a few beaches you can make your way around.

A couple of:

Praia da Rainha
@ritaneiva
This one is bang on the centre of town, easy access to walk by before or after going for a meal. It’s a really small beach but with a special charm to it.

Praia do Guincho
@ritaneiva
Known for its waves, Guincho is a great spot to visit when there’s not a lot of wind. This one you’d have to get to by car, there’s no easy access by transport unfortunately.

Water activities

From boat tours to sailing and diving, Paddle boarding and surfing, there’s a lot of water activities you can book.

Breath taking views

Boca do Inferno
@ritaneiva
Boca do Inferno translates to ‘The gateway to Hell’ as it’s where you can witness the water shooting against the cliffs or ‘sea arch’.

More promenades will be included once I design the intenary to Cascais coming soon.

Art & Culture

Cascais has a long history of cultural interest from contemporary art to historical museums.

A good example of it:

Casa das Histórias Paula Rego
@ritaneiva
Paula Rego, one of Portugal’s best known artists, has a permanent display in this museum, but there’s also two additional temporary exhibitions in the space.
