WHERE TO STAY

Tokyo offers a variety of places to stay, but these two neighborhoods are my top picks whenever I’m in the city! If you’re looking for a lively, central spot, Shinjuku is ideal—perfect for first-timers. For a quieter experience near major attractions like Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo Skytree, Asakusa is a great choice. I’ll share some hotels in these areas that I’ve personally stayed at and highly recommend!

📍SHINJUKU

Shinjuku City

Very central - great for first-timers

⭐️ APA HOTELS are a more affordable hotel chain across Japan. I personally have stayed in a few of them and enjoyed my stay every time. They are always super central and clean, and I recommend it!

⭐️ ⭐️ If you are looking for something more luxury, KIMPTON SHINJUKU hands down is a good one! Kimpton hotels in general are always really nice and offer a variety of amenities (restaurants, cafe, gym and more)! They also have the best hotel breakfast I've ever eaten - I still dream about their French toast (a must if you stay here!).

📍ASAKUSA

Asakusa

More quieter and local neighborhood - close to popular temples and markets

⭐️ For my budget-friendly travelers, I highly recommend MyCUBE by MYSTAYS in Asakusa. It’s a capsule hotel, and as someone who usually avoids hostel-style accommodations, I found this to be a really nice experience. It’s clean, central, and offers plenty of storage space—perfect for those with check-in-sized luggage!

⭐️ I have stayed at HOTEL WING before and also can recommend it. The rooms are pretty tiny but that's normal in Japan. I found this place to be budget-friendly, central, and really clean as well.

💡Hotel Wing is offering a discount of 15% off now through January 2025!

⭐️⭐️ And if you're looking for something for luxury, you can never go wrong with the INTERCONTINENTAL HOTELS - definitely check this one out!
