Paris in Tour De France Setting

A different approach to Paris🥳

I was so lucky that I had my overseas trip at the dates of the ending of the Tour De France. I just had one day at Paris and it was the day for the finish line.

Also, it was my first time in Paris. I wasn’t planning to see Paris in x2 speed. I walked & run through Paris streets approximately 19 kilometers that day.

The final day of the tour is happening in Paris. The final day starts at a nearby village and it is finishing at Arc Triumph.

Below are the best spots for experiencing the tour, details noted in the boards.

As a newbie I haven’t known that when they close the roads, even pedrstrian flow is also stopped for most of the areas, that was the main problem for me🤦🏻‍♀️ so just informing..

My idea was seeing the tour at each phase so I selected these 3 spots.

Arrive at 2.30 pm in Paris

Walk fast for seeing around while reaching Louvre. Then Louvre is the first stop.

Louvre Museum

This is the best place to see the first shot of the Tour in Paris. There is an app of the tour and you can follow from the map when they are getting close. This area is not fav for spectators as the cyclists passing from here just one time. So it is not that much crowded.

Tuileries Garden

As you know, this park is on the main axis of Paris, connecting the Arc and the museum. But that day it is not connecting and I recognised it after walking all the park at the longest direction. They closed the Arc end of th park and also the side doors as the tour route passes from there. Tour is cycling around this park several times, so entering this park was one of the best things I did that day. I spent half an hour there, took many photos and experienced the atmosphere while sipping from my cider🥂

You cannot run anymore as it is far and just 20mins left for the finish line. Then I heard that one station of metro is open nearby the Arc. Normally most of the metro stations are closed. I ran to the metro, and just get to the Arc when they reach there.

Final section This is where the tour finishes and they have several circles around the arc. You can also buy merchandise from the official vans. all the tiredmess disappears when you see rher Wll the staf was helpfull.

If you want to buy merchandise of the tour, there are many official vans around the Arc. They are closing around 19.00 so do not leave it to the last minute.

Prices: 20 € tshirt for children (the have a package of a bag, water bottle, tshirt), woman can buy kid size, I wear it as a crop tshirt
