This board is a work-in-progress. All of the location information is here, but I am still in the process of adding notes and photos. 10/29/22

Snowslide Campground
@venture4wd
Snowslide Campground is a forest service, fee campground in La Plata Canyon, near Hesperus and Durango, Colorado. It is in a popular location for mountain recreation, so expect other campers throughout the year. There is a vault toilet here, and each site has a picnic table and a metal fire ring. The vault toilet is locked off-season, but the campground is seemingly open year round, weather permitting. It is very affordable and only $9 USD per site when I stayed here in October. There is some cell service, but do not expect reliable connectivity here. Enough room for a couple of vehicles per site, and plenty of adventures to be had in the canyon and the surrounding mountain. It's a great basecamp for four-wheel drive adventure, accessible by any vehicle of of the main dirt road, in clear weather conditions. Recommended.
