*Portland is eco-friendly so I carried my own water bottle and shopping bag (which I filled!)

* The traffic is not too bad if you plan your trip right. I had a car and uber is available also.

You do not feel like you are in a city here. Very peaceful garden to walk around and there is a traditional cafe if you have time to enjoy a cup of tea.

This is for a longer day in Portland. If you have time wake up very early, get here and enjoy the sunrise before you wander into the city for shopping and other sites.

Leave yourself time for a cocktail- or three here. I had the most unique whiskeys I've ever had- that I had never seen elsewhere. Enjoy the local oysters with them. The most knowledgable bartenders I've ever met.

By far my favorite bookstore in the country. I spent almost 1.5 hours here wandering and finding gems. Make sure you either have enough room in your suitcase or a little extra time to ship the books home- and they can do that for you!
