Summer is obviously the best time to stay at coastal towns, and for those who likes to party whilst enjoying the sea breeze, Lloret de Mar is the best place in the Mediterranean! Approximately 1 and half hour away from Barcelona by bus, this coastal town is home to fabulous beaches during the day and a party hub at night.

Day 1 Arrival and strolling around Lloret Beach

Hotel María Del Mar Lloret Costa Brava
@dahlianywhere
I stayed at a 4*hotel- Hotel Maria del Mar located near the bus station, convenience stores and approximately 100 meters away from the Lloret beach. Inclusions in my stay were buffet breakfast and dinner where they served Spanish and Mediterranean cuisines.

In Lloret beach, stroll the seaside while having an icecream towards Camí de Ronda, Platja de Fenals where you can enjoy the sound of waves crashing onto the giant rocks or be in awe at the majestic medieval stone tower- Castell de Sant Joan.

Camí Castell de Sant Joan

unfortunately this is a private property, so entry most likely impossible.

Before going back for dinner, enjoy the sunset at Dona Marinera statue which overlooks the ocean and the long stretch of Lloret Beach. At dusk going back to the hotel, bars and clubs are already open for booze and party.

Day 2 Church Sant Roma, Santa Clotilde Gardens, Santa Cristina Beach

Wearing a bikini under a fabulous summer dress is a great way to start the day- more time to explore the old town before heading to the beach. Start the day by visiting the Parish Church of Sant Romà originally built in a Gothic-Renaissance style near the old town area. Enjoy the morning on the terrace of Rosa Marles Cafeteria which faces the church with a cup of coffee and enjoy the great view of its peculiar architecture.

The next stop will be Santa Clotilde Gardens- the Garden of Dragons. If you are a Game of Thrones fan, this is one of the prequel settings of the House of the Dragon- it boasts of splendid Italian Rennaisance-designed garden at the top of the cliff overlooking the sea view of Fenals Beach and Cala sa Boadella (nude beach area).

Day 3 Avinguda del Rieral Market, Playa de Fenals

Avinguda del Rieral
@dahlianywhere
This weekly market sells fresh produce, local foods, and clothing at a cheap price.

It is a great way to start the day shopping for fruits before heading to Fenals Beach. I would recommend taking a walk going to the beach to enjoy the scenery and maybe discover a new dining place.

Lloret de Mar - Parque Calistenia - Playa de Fenals
@dahlianywhere
Fenals beach is sandier than Santa Cristina which was pebbly. Wide range of amenities and maybe try scuba diving. Scuba diving is also available near the shore and it is also a beginner friendly. End the day with shopping at the shopping district in the main square.

Day 4 Barcelona: La Rambla, Gaudi Architectures and La Sagrada Familia- WEAR SPORT SHOES

Stay at Lloret de Mar but Barcelona shouldn't be missed during this trip. A day trip would do exploring Barcelona, be sure to buy a two-way ticket from Lloret de Mar to Barcelona and vice versa since during peak hours, bus tickets can be hard to purchase.

La Sagrada Familia
@dahlianywhere
From the bus station, head out towards the direction of La Sagrada Familia Basilica, it can be done by foot to also enjoy the scenery of the city. If you would like to enjoy the interiors of the Basilica be sure to purchase a ticket before your visit since it is not available on site- well, the waiting time is a bit long before you can enter the sacred place.
