Gallaghers Boxty House
@janel
Once we arrived in Dublin, traversed the city straight to our hotel…we were ready for a pint & warm meal. Since our hotel was within walking distance to Dublin’s famous Temple Bar, we took a stroll and happened upon The Boxty House.
***Side note- This place seemed familiar to us although neither have ever been. Then it struck us…as fans of Netflix’s Somebody Feed Phil this was one of his Dublin recommendations!***
Our meals were so delicious that we tried going back for dinner on our last night in town only to find that reservations are needed most nights. We were able to get in on our first day because it was off-peak dining hours. (I believe we arrived around 4:30-ish.)
Recommend:
😋 Corned Beef Boxty Dumplings
😋 Sticky Toffee Pudding

Bread 41
@janel
I had to add this to the list because I was surprised how good everything was. We were looking for a light breakfast (coffee & croissant) yet tried an extra pastry (or two) because everything in this bakery was so fresh & delicious!
😋 Menu changes often so my recommendation is to try what looks good to you…because it won’t disappoint!

EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum
@janel
I wasn’t sure if this was something I’d enjoy (too touristy??) but it was next door to our hotel and so we thought we’d give it a go.
I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed my time here!
It was fun to wander through the exhibits and explore at our own pace.
There are a lot of interactive activities and if you have kiddos I’d highly recommend as a must-do!
**** If you want to do the genealogy consultation you must book ahead of time & it is an extra cost.***

Temple Bar
@janel
“Let’s just stop in for a pint…or two….” Ah! Famous last words before heading into one of the many pubs dotted along Dublin’s famous Temple Bar district.
We’d stop in for a pint of Guiness (half-pint for me, please), to listen to some classic Irish music and become so enthralled in the experience that we didn’t notice the time pass.
The people watching is well worth the visit!
You’ll rub shoulders, sing-along, and tap your foot with visitors from around the world. (Hey, we’re all on holiday…why not?!)

The Temple Bar Pub
@janel
This pub was our first introduction to Dublin’s Temple Bar district.
It was jam-packed on a Tuesday afternoon and the crowd was in party-mode!
This is where we were introduced to people ordering Guiness with black currant syrup. Which my husband was told by a fiesty bartender was a “girl drink” when he inquired about ordering it. This girl was not interested in trying it…and stuck to the classic stout.
