Lake Havasu is one of my favorite places to go boating in the summertime. It's also a great place to visit during the cooler months as well. Regardless of when you choose to visit, here is the best of Havasu.

Hotels

We don't stay in hotels very often, but as far as Havasu goes these two are the only ones ai can recommend based off our experience.

The Nautical Beachfront Resort
@livelikepete
Located right next to the Naked Turtle and the marina. Private boat ramp and slips for guest use are included in the price of the room.

Free Camping

Dispersed camping is not allowed within the city limits, however there are two great dispersed camping areas just outside of town. This is assuming it's not summertime. Then it is way too hot to camp without AC!

Lake Havasu City Welcome sign

Free, dispersed camping! Pull off the highway just before the sign. Plenty of space to camp. Just be careful with larger rigs not to get stuck.

Kokomo Beach Club
@livelikepete
This is a loud, outdoor nightclub type bar with overpriced crappy beer, pretty awful music blasting way too loud, and it's usually always sticky. But it's a Havasu staple and there's always some fun people watching here. You have to go at least once. 😆

Boating

Sandy Beach at Rotary Park

This is one of my favorite places to beach the boat. It's a clean, sandy beach where you can easily take a dip and watch the boats come and go from the channel.

The Channel

It can be a crowded cluster F at times, but when it's not a holiday weekend it can be quite enjoyable to sit and watch the boat traffic and take in the views of Havasu.

The Sandbar

This is a fun ~30 minute boat ride to where all the boats will be on a nice day.

Three Dunes

Three Dunes Campground
