Day 1 - Travel day and exploring Cartagena
Video Recap
Flight- $170 on Spirit
I took a flight from Houston, Texas around 6am and landed in Cartagena around noon with a layover in Florida. To find cheap flights, I recommend booking ~3 months in advance
Stay- Airbnb
For $90 a night this Airbnb was perfect for two people. Located within the walled city, we were able to drop off our bags and freshen up before hitting the city
Lunch- Seafood
With a 4.5 rating on TripAdvisor, you can’t go wrong with this local Caribbean restaurant.
Walk the city
You need to spend an entire afternoon walking around the walled city. You can walk from one plaza to another, purchase street food from local vendors, and take in the bright colors all afternoon. Below are some of the main attractions I recommend you make a stop at.
Dinner- Food Delivery
For dinner we were quite tired so we tried the local food delivery service, Rappi which is like Uber Eats. First time users also get a coupon so this could be an inexpensive option to try food from different restaurants.
