Central Puglia Guide
Simona Mammoliti
Puglia has become such a hot spot travel destination in the past few years and for many well deserved reasons! I grew up spending every summer in Puglia so I often get many questions about the region and how to make the most of a trip here. Because I have been lucky enough to spend so much time here, I know the hidden gems you should see and the spots worth visiting. Puglia has a special place in my heart...It's a region that has SO much to offer from its delicious food, rich history, breathtaking beaches and charming towns. One of the most common questions I get is which towns are actually worth visiting. In this guide, I will share with you which spots I think are a must when travelling central Puglia, also known as the Valle d'Itria area. You will find things to do in these towns, where to eat and drink and beaches to hang out at!

Bari
Bari is the largest city in Puglia and has one of the two airports found in the region so you might even fly into here! It has all the main shops, lots of restaurants, bars and cafes as well as a charming centro storico (old town).
Bari is renowned for its lungomare (seafront), which is particularly beautiful to walk along during sunset. This strip is filled with bars, restaurants, and cafes, making it an ideal spot for a morning coffee, a daytime swim, or an evening aperitivo.

Lots of public and private beaches or a great area to hang out in to grab a coffee or enjoy an aperitivo - La Biglietteria is one of my personal favourites for an evening drink!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Simona Mammoliti
Hiii! My name is Simona, and I am Canadian/Italian...I was born and raised in Toronto but half of my my family is from Puglia, so I have been lucky enough to spend every summer of my life in Puglia. I currently live in Milan and have spent the past few years exploring the nooks and crannies of Italy and other European destinations. I grew up with family restaurants in Toronto and Los Angeles and studied hospitality and tourism management...so you could say I have a bit of a passion for food and beverage. When I travel I am always looking for the best and most authentic spots to eat and drink at. Besides this, I love all things health and wellness related, cooking, meeting new people and experiencing high-end but authentic vacations!
