Level 3 - Ink Pots (Moderate)
As you approach the Ink Pots, you'll be greeted by a series of vibrant mineral springs that bubble up from the earth, creating small pools of mesmerizing colors. As you ascend, the trail rewards you with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains, glimpses of Lake Louise, and a much needed a stop at Mirror Lake. Arriving at Lake Agnes, you'll discover a charming teahouse nestled on its shores, offering a delightful respite for weary hikers. Indulge in freshly brewed tea and delectable homemade treats while soaking in the tranquil ambiance and stunning views. 🫖
When planning your visit to the Lake Agnes Teahouse, it is advisable to bring cash with you, as it is worth noting that their card reader experiences occasional difficulties. 💶
Please note that the Lake Agnes Teahouse tends to attract a significant number of visitors, with lines forming shortly after its opening at 8 am. To make the most of your experience, it is highly recommended to start your hike early in the morning. ⛅️

I recommend you continue your trek onward to the Little or Big Beehive. 🐝
You can also take the Plain of 6 Glaciers Trail Loop for another challenging route down, away from the crowds. 🧊

Please note that access to Moraine Lake has changed, and personal vehicles are no longer permitted. However, there are convenient alternatives to reach this stunning destination. Parks Canada operates a shuttle service to Moraine Lake for a fee of $8 per person. I highly recommend using this shuttle service as it ensures a smooth and hassle-free experience. 🚌
It's important to be aware that tickets for the shuttle can sell out quickly, so it's advisable to book in advance as far as possible. This way, you can secure your spot and avoid disappointment. If you weren't able to secure a ticket in advance, don't be discouraged. There is a walk-up counter where you can try your luck and purchase a ticket on the day of your visit. 🎟️
The best time to visit Moraine Lake is bright and early in the morning, as it tends to be less crowded. When I went at 7:30 am, the shuttle was not yet full, and we had the privilege of experiencing the serenity of Moraine Lake with minimal crowds. ⏰

Once you are at Moraine Lake, stay as long as you choose and then take the Parks Canada Connector Shuttle to Lake Louise. Your ticket includes free trips between the two lakes, as well as a return shuttle service from either lake back to the Park and Ride when you are ready. No need to purchase any additional tickets, just hold on to the one you were given for your initial shuttle ride. 🚍
