Slea Head Drive

Slea Head Drive is a scenic route along the coast of the tip of the Dingle Peninsula. In total, it is around 30 miles long (48 Km).  You should allow a couple hours for this drive as you will be getting in and out of the care to get the most out of each stop.

Tips

   - It is best to do the drive in a counter clockwise direction. The road becomes narrow at some points and it would be best to avoid having to cross on coming traffic. Start from Dingle Town and head west down R559. The brown road signs will be pretty straightforward to follow along the route.

    - I advise leaving a little earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds. We began the drive at around 9:30 and had almost no one around until we were finishing the drive.

    - Have a little cash on you! Little stops along the way require a small fee to see the site. These can include the beehive huts and a farm to pet a lamb.

   - Have fun and don't be locked into a specific plan! This list of stops are things you can't miss but definitely isn't a complete list. If something peaks your interest don't be afraid to pull over and explore!!

There is a small pull off cross the street from the crucifix. Use caution when pulling in and out as it is around a curve on the drive.
