Scotland in a camper van (3/3) - Back to Austria

Located in the very north of France, on the border with Belgium, is the relatively unknown French city of Lille. But what does the city, which many of us might just know from the famous comedy "Welcome to the Sticks" (French: Bienvenue chez les Ch'tis / German: „Willkommen bei den Sch’tis“), actually have to offer? Named European Capital of Culture of the Year in 2004, Lille is especially known for its rich cultural and architectural heritage. Visit this popular student city in the north of France, stroll through the streets of Lille and be enchanted by the lively atmosphere and impressive buildings.

We start in Friesach. Friesach is a historic town in Carinthia and is known for its well-preserved medieval structures, including the town wall, castle ruins and moat. It is considered the oldest town in Carinthia and has a rich history dating back to the 9th century. This time the route takes us to Scotland. Scotland is a country in the north of the United Kingdom, known for its picturesque Highlands, historic castles, cultural traditions such as playing the bagpipes and wearing kilts, as well as its vibrant cities such as Edinburgh and Glasgow. It has a rich history, breathtaking landscapes and is home to the famous Loch Ness Monster. So far, so good. It's probably important to have a good map so you don't get lost... 😉
