One of the best places to get local food in this vicinity. It has historic significance being Singapore's first wet market since 1824. And Lau Pa Sat means “old market” in the Hokkien dialect. Despite its commercialization, locals still visit and have lunch here. ~ SGD 10-30/per pax depending on what you order Dish reccos from the link below: - 1 - Satay. Grill meat skewers (I absolutely love this). Get the leave-wrapped rice as well, called Ketupat. - 3 - Bah Kut Teh. Herbal soup with pork (The Singapore ver. usually is a more peppery soup and the herbal ver. is more Malaysian) - 5 - Kwaytiao. Wok-fried noodle dish - 10 - Thunder tea rice. Vegetable-focused dish from the Hakka dialect. Even the soup is made from vegetables hence the green color. (I eat this for a healthier option) Satay Street opens at night (on Boon Tat St). Have satay for dinner for the traditional experience of street food vibes.

Overpriced by local standards with mediocre quality food. But it is the cheapest option in MBS itself.

Have a nice cup of tea and take a break. Enjoy some macarons or tea ice cream. Macaron flavor reccos: - Napolean Tea & Caramel - Earl Grey Fortune & Chocolate - Silver Moon Tea & Strawberry - Bain de Roses Tea Quality of the main dish is overpriced here so I don't recommend.

Best views, esp at night. You get to see the view of the bay at one side, and the gardens on the other side. A drink is about $25 and above. I'd say its a great checklist, without having to pay for Observation Deck! I always bring my travel friends here when they visit me. The food and drinks are overpriced, just to manage your expectations. You're paying for the view and ambiance.

A Chinese hotpot restaurant where you add & cook vegetables or meat into a soup pot, usually in the middle of the table, where all diners can easily reach. It can be confusing to order if this is your first time. You'll need to learn how long to cook the vegetables/meat too, but the servers can always guide and advice. Its a popular local choice for dinner & supper. They close at 3am.
