Arrival

Arriving by airplane

Luxembourg is served by Aéroport de Luxembourg (LUX) a small airport located near the city centre and hub of the national airline company Luxair. It is well connected to all the major European and some extra-European.

From the airport you can take 29 to go to Gare Central (Central Station).

Otherwise, you can go directly to the city centre by taking bus 16.

Remember! Luxembourg public transportations are free for everyone, so you do not need to buy any ticket or carnet.

Lunch

For lunch, I suggest going to Place d'Armes, a small square surrounded by very nice restaurants and fast food: there is a McDonald's, a Burger King and even Pizza Hut.

I personally have lunched at Grand Café,  a very ancient brasserie.

@andrearizzo
Expect some wait. I have been to lunch and had to wait a bit. I noticed that a lot of locals and office workers eat at this place. It is possible to book your table by calling the restaurant or scanning the QR code by going physically to the restaurant. I had the faux filet du terroir (only available at lunch during weekdays) and the Île flottante as a dessert. The lunch was very delicious.

If Galeries Lafayette is not enough, you can take the tram and go to a bigger shopping centre: Shopping Center Cloche d'Or.
