Porto, Portugal
Day 1
Our first day in Porto we spent walking around and looking at the beautiful architecture and tile. We started by walking to the Train Station and Se. From there we went to the Manteigaria pastry shop for eclairs and pastel de nada (must try local pastry) and lunch. From here we walked across the river along the top of the bridge to the Port houses. We went to Graham's for a tour and tasting. After we went to Muu for dinner. Muu is a highly rated restaurant that serves dishes family style. This is a must visit and is highly rated as a must visit by anyone we know that has visited Porto- make a reservation!
Day 2
We started our day walking through town to a public garden, Jardins do Palácio de Cristal. In the park we saw many birds- chicken, peacock, duck, geese, finch, and more! We enjoyed the animals and views for a little under and hour then walked down the hill to the free Museum of Transport and Communication. We walked through it in under an hour then walked up the hill, across the bridge from day 1 to Parque das Virtudes for a view of the city, river, and port houses. After sitting to take it in we walked down the hill to the port houses and Quinto de Noval food hall for lunch. This food hall has every type of food and drink in large and small bites to meet everyone's needs. Once we were refueled we walked back up the hill and over the bridge to our food and drink tour that started at 3. The food tour was a group of about 10 and our tour guide lead us to 4 different food experiences in central Porto. Once we said our goodbyes we had a light dinner at Tapabento to end the day.
Day 3
Our last day started with a walk to the water front of the port house side for a one hour boat tour up the river. After our boat trip we stayed on the port house side and went tasting at Kopke and Calem porthouses. Our final dinner was at Cantinho do Avillez.
