The Best Areas to Travel to in Naples and Why

Naples is a city in southern Italy, located on the Bay of Naples that boasts of picturesque beauty with an alluring blend of ancient and modern art, architecture and culture. This city is a top destinaiton for those who love history, archaeology, art, and food.

Historical Centre

The Historical Centre of Naples is the UNESCO World Heritage site with thousands of years of history, every alleyway, every building, tells a story. The most famous attractions include the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace of Naples, Castel dell'Ovo, and the Duomo. One of the best ways to explore the area is by wandering through the hidden alleys and stopping to sample local street foods.

Pompeii

Pompeii is an excellent destination for history lovers. It is known to be the only place where the historical heritage has been frozen in time. The ruins of this ancient Roman city are spread over 170 acres, and you can easily spend a day wandering around and still not see all of it. A must-visit is the Amphitheater, the most ancient and oldest attraction in Pompeii.

Mount Vesuvius National Park

Mount Vesuvius is the most dangerous and active volcano in all of Europe, but also one of the most fascinating. This small Italian town offers scenic views, stunning cliffs, Mediterranean landscapes, and historical architecture. It is famous for its limoncello, which can be found in markets and shops throughout the area.

Capri is a small island located off the southern coast of Italy. This island is world-renowned for its natural beauty and luxurious living. The most famous attraction on the island is the Blue Grotto, a sea cave where the water is a mesmerizing translucent blue color. Visit the Gardens of Augustus for a postcard-worthy view of the Faraglioni rocks.
