ADRABA offers a diverse range of accredited high school courses designed to blend academic excellence with Jewish cultural and religious literacy. Our courses fulfill Ontario graduation requirements and invite Jewish students to explore their heritage and the broader world through an interactive and engaging online learning environment. The World Religions and Belief Traditions course stands out among our unique courses, giving students a deep dive into the evolution of major world religions, including Rabbinic Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. A Journey Through the Middle Ages Our World Religions and Belief Traditions course explores how Rabbinic Judaism, Christianity, and Islam expanded and evolved during the Middle Ages. Students will delve into the history, beliefs, and practices of these sibling religions, with a particular focus on how they influenced and interacted with each other. One of the fascinating topics we explore is the role of Jews in Muslim society during this period. Students will investigate questions like how integrated Jews were into the Islamic world and how they contributed to advancements in science, astronomy, medicine, philosophy, and the arts. The course allows students to critically examine these relationships, offering a nuanced understanding of how Jewish tradition developed alongside Christianity and Islam during a transformative historical era. This course is also practical—it fulfills the "Group 1" credit requirement and has no prerequisites, making it accessible to any student looking to expand their knowledge of world religions. Our courses are structured to accommodate your busy schedule. They run from October to June, meeting twice a week for 25 weeks, with all Jewish and civil holidays off. If you can't start in October, you can still join the class until the end of November, giving you flexibility without missing out on too much material. There are no traditional exams or tests. Instead, students complete monthly homework assignments available on Google Classroom, with the freedom to choose the ones that interest them most. This approach allows for personalized learning and ensures that students stay engaged with the material throughout the year. As the course nears its conclusion, students will work on a culminating project—an in-depth exploration of a topic of their choice. This final project, due at the end of June, allows students to apply what they’ve learned and dive deeper into the areas of history and religion that most resonate with them. Why ADRABA? At ADRABA, we believe in a holistic approach to education. Our courses aren’t just about meeting academic requirements—they’re about broadening your understanding of the world through the lens of Jewish culture, history, and values.
