Hola! I'm Julia, a 23-year-old born in the small town of Woerden, The Netherlands. In 2017, I had the opportunity to take my first trip outside of Europe to Ghana. This journey opened my eyes and showed me that the world has so much more to offer beyond my familiar and trusted surroundings. After hard work and saving money, I was able to take the step and travel solo, starting with a trip to Central and South America. While I sometimes visite popular tourist attractions, I'm primarily in search of unique, hidden, and meaningful experiences. Nothing makes me happier than enjoying a fantastic meal in a place with a story, talking to a local. The goal of my travels has always been more than just a simple vacation. Traveling means meeting new people, discovering a new part of yourself, learning about different cultures (especially their music, dance, and food), sharing opinions and experiences, and broadening my perspective. Planning and creating a trip is incredibly exciting, but I understand it can be challenging and overwhelming when you don't know the area! Although I'm not an expert and there are certainly many more impressive and beautiful places to discover than those I've seen, I want to share my experiences this way. I'll provide insights into both the most wonderful experiences and my honest opinions, along with the practical challenges I've faced. Getting to know different cultures, meeting new people and discovering beautiful places has become more than a hobby. For the past 2.5 years, I've lived outside of the Netherlands, spending time in Barcelona, Mexico, and Chile. I hope to excite and inspire you as you plan your dream trip. 💛
