My name is Izzy, I am DC based, and I have traveled to 14 countries + five continents in the last five years. My pursuit is to volunteer abroad, as it allows me to expand my horizons, gaining a profound insight into diverse cultures and their impact on our global community. Where I am going and how I am doing it are frequent questions inquired of me from myself... but also by my family, friends, and co-workers.  I have a profound passion for mindful travel, where I wholeheartedly immerse myself in the local culture, while carefully considering country-specific requirements, managing my budget thoughtfully, and prioritizing the exploration of history, interactions with the local people, and appreciation of the natural beauty of the destination. My approach involves actively engaging with the people of my chosen location, as I am dedicated to savoring the essence of the country, city, and its inhabitants before bidding adieu. I gauge the success of my trips by whether I've enjoyed my accommodations, discovered amazing food (and coffee, of course!), engaged in meaningful interactions with locals, acquired new knowledge, and experienced a touch of nature's beauty.
