We loved our time in this beautiful little town and surrounding countryside that's just an hour south of Dublin. There's so many wonderful and unique hikes to choose from and no shortage of pubs and restaurants either! There's only one cafe that allows dogs inside in town, but depending on where your adventure takes you, there are a few more options in the surrounding county. Bring your hiking boots or least sturdy footwear, you're not going to want to miss these beautiful, scenic walks!

Worried about not being able to see much outside of Dublin, Ireland without a car? County Wicklow has so much to offer and it's easier to get around than you think! I've included some of my favourite experiences and sights to see, plus some perfect spots to stop for a bite to eat. I've also included a recommended route that you can adjust to suit your own schedule!

For those who want to experience the true beauty of nature in Dublin and surrounding areas

There are many different ways to see the Emerald Isle from group travel, to train travel, bus travel, to self-drive or chauffer driven. This itinerary focuses on some areas of the country that are "off the beaten path" and accessible by self-drive or hiring your own private driver. We highlight some points of interest that are common to the country, but delve into some other spectacular sites, villages and places that don't normally show up on a "typical Irish getaway". The itinerary is mapped out for a grand tour of the country, going to towns and villages that aren't always referenced in the normal brochures and is perfect for people who may have seen a lot of Ireland already and want to delve into smaller, niche areas; or for those who enjoy traveling off-the-beaten path and away from most of the general tourist destinations - getting into the heart of the country.

The roadtrip from Dublin to the West Coast of Ireland is truly breathtaking. The rolling green hills, endless castles and free roaming wildlife make you feel like you've stepped back in time. These are the stops we made along the way that we feel made the trip so special. Our trip began and ended in Dublin. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
