Hey there, I'm Susanna, but you can call me Sooz! I was born and raised on Denai’ina Athabascan land in Chugiak, Alaska. I'm a dual-US-Canadian citizen who has lived in: 🇺🇸 Alaska (25 years) 🇺🇸 Las Vegas (2 years) 🇩🇪 Munich (7 years!) 🇨🇦 Vancouver (currently home) I am a sustainable travel expert with Alaska, Europe, Western Canada, and Australia as my areas of expertise. ♻️ I am passionate about helping people understand and plan sustainable travel adventures, gain confidence in building responsible itineraries independently, or rely on me for help. I aim to make a sustainable travel approachable and align with your values and interests to make it fun and beneficial for you and the communities you visit. 🐝I have an MSc in environmental science. My thesis explored the intersection of tourism and the environment. I have worked in the tourism industry for over a decade as a local Alaskan guide, travel blogger, freelance writer, and academic. 🎒After my first backpacking trip to Europe 15 years ago and solo travel in Brazil, I started my first travel blog. It has undergone many transformations but is now a 100% sustainable travel resource. Travel left me feeling too big for my small town, and one day, I loaded up my trusty Subaru and drove to Las Vegas, where I met my now-Australian husband at a nightclub. That serendipitous encounter led to us moving to Germany, where we got permanent residency and lived for 7 years! 🚙My time in Europe was spent campervanning around Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Germany, Norway, and Sweden, hiking and snowboarding extensively in the Alps, and visiting many of Europe's incredible rural areas and national parks. I recently moved to Vancouver, Canada, where I hope to stay for some time and plan EV road trips! I travel back to Alaska and Australia often. I look forward to connecting with you and hope to inspire you on your next sustainable trip!

📍I've lived in Western Australia for over 16 years when I lucky enough to move here as a kid, and I made sure to take the opportunity to eat my way through the best brunch places in town, hike to beautiful waterfalls and travel extensively along WA's most gorgeous south. With New Zealand so close, I've jumped into exploring the South Island as much as I could. 🏔️ My favourite activities when I go to a new place is by connecting with nature as much as I can, and of course complete with thrilling adventures! I continue to chase after sunsets, climb mountains and swim in oceans not only in Australia but across the seas with meticulously planned itineraries filled with must-do's. I am also as ready as ever to throw myself from a plane and paraglide through the air - or speed down a hill on a skyline luge at top speed! 🪂 Never passing up the opportunity for a good eat, eating your way through the best feeds in a new place is an adventure on its own. 🍛 🚗 Having been on countless road trips along WA's south to experience glittering beaches and white sand, eat tantalisingly delectable food and live in mesmerising views and stays, I am here to help you do the same and indulge in the magic of Western Australia. I take my road trip outside of WA and along New Zealand, enchanted by the impossibly blue lakes, hike to a glacier and take a helicopter to the snow-capped mountains. 🚁 My passion lies in the outdoors, chasing the most beautiful sights around.
