On my trips I usually adapt either to a slow pace (as sometimes I make places my base, because I work remotely), which provides a lot of time to explore, or to a pre-determined shorter time. (from a Day-trip all over to 2 or 3 weeks) What I truly believe is part of me, is the skill to adapt to different environments with ease, and after a couple of days feel myself like at home, I genuinely feel lucky about that I can travel and connect with the world, and I would like to help more people to do it! I moved to Madrid, Spain in summer 2021 from San Francisco, California. I came to Spain for the first time in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the place. I quickly decided to relocate here permanently. I love showing friends around new places that seem to be cropping up every day here. In my first 9 months here, I had 15 friends visit me from abroad (mostly the US) and afterwards, in the interest of efficiency, I wrote a 5-page informal Google Doc to share amongst my friends. This quickly morphed into a more comprehensive guide that I've posted on Thatch. I continue showing friends, family, and friend of friends around Madrid. I've hosted upwards of 30 visitors now including friends with babies, vegetarians, and quick day trippers.
