Recently, I've moved to Paris, France 🇫🇷 with my husband and we now call the beautiful city of lights home, at least for the next little while. I've travelled to 31 countries and constantly adding to that tally. My passion for travel came from a young age, where I travelled extensively around South East Asia with my family. My ideal day in a new city involves wandering the streets of a new neighborhood to get a feel for its energy, ducking into an art gallery or museum to see something inspiring, and then stopping for an afternoon coffee and chocolate chip cookie. At night, you'll more likely find me in a cocktail bar than a club. I also love to hike, camp, and be near the ocean! I lived for 8 years in San Francisco, and spent extended time in Lima, Peru and Mombasa, Kenya. Even though I've moved back to my hometown of Washington, DC, I still stay up to date on the SF food scene and travel back often for work! I'm pretty tapped into the DC food and coffee scene. I am on a consent quest for unique inspiring food and beverages while celebrating the producers that make them, learning as much as possible about the cultures and regions I visit. Have a soft spot for well-crafted… well, anything --.Hailing from Australia, but currently savouring life in Northern Italy (a particularly good launch pad, in my opinion), I've mastered the art of blending philosophy with a fork. In my world, an ideal day in a new city involves coffee, bakery treats, bikes, a leisurely lunch, art exploration, bar-hopping, and perhaps a dip in a local pool (yes, I've got a list for that) local food. In the rare weeks when my suitcase is stashed, I'm busy planning the next trip to visit a producer I have longed to meet, cooking or scouring antique markets for treasures (mainly spoons). If you haven’t found me in one of these activities, it is because I am tapped into academics; either developing my thesis research on the social culture of coffee or absorbing other academic papers that pique my interest. I spent some time in London - about 7 years - and had my first job in Singapore. Growing up, I was often spent my school holidays in Japan for family reunion. When I travel, I enjoy going solo and trying local foods. I'm also interested in learning about different cultures, history, and art. It's always fascinating to see how these aspects shape a place.
