A trip to Geirangerfjord is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and by following this guide, you'll be well-prepared to immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring beauty of this Norwegian wonderland. Enjoy your journey!
The best time to visit Geirangerfjord is during the summer months, from late May to early September. During this period, the weather is relatively mild, and most attractions are open to the public. The fjord is usually covered in snow during the winter, making it less accessible and harder to explore.
Getting There:
Geirangerfjord is accessible by various modes of transportation:
By Air: The closest major airport is Ålesund Airport, Vigra (AES ), which is about 120 kilometers (75 miles) away from Geiranger. From the airport, you can rent a car or take a bus to reach Geirangerfjord.
By Car: If you're already in Norway or nearby regions, driving to Geirangerfjord can be a scenic and enjoyable option. The fjord is well-connected by roads, and the drive itself offers breathtaking views.
By Public Transport: You can take a combination of trains and buses to reach Geiranger. Norway has an excellent public transportation system, and you can easily plan your journey through websites like Entur.
