Bonjour, y'all! I’m Emma, a southerner who moved to Paris and now splits my time between the City of Light and Charleston, SC. After years of planning trips to both spots for friends, family, and the occasional stranger I befriended on a plane, I made things official and launched Travel Filled, my travel blog and planning business. I used to work for the City of Charleston and now travel and work with cities all over the country (aka total local government nerd, proudly nicknamed the Leslie Knope of my grad class). During the last 7 years I have been traveling around the world and trying to find my way to live traveling. The first 3 years I hitchhiked around South America discovering my own country Peru and visiting Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador. After South America, 4 years ago I started my travels in Europe and Africa. I have been in Spain, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, UK, Turkey, Poland and Morocco. I travel slow, I like to just get inmerse into a daily life as a local so I am the kind of nomad that spend months in one country or city or decide to move for a while in a new country and come back many times and see how a place has changed, how new people and new times in life can bring me new experiences in the same place. I volunteer while traveling mainly in hostels, I also use couchsurfing hosting or as a guest, sometimes wildcamping, sometimes I travel hitchiking, sometimes renting a car or with plane, train or buses. Hello Gluten-Free Travelers! I am Karen Horan and I landed in Singapore in 2011 with a hungry celiac child and gluten intolerant husband. I knew how to do gluten-free in the USA, but Singapore was a whole different place. I spent the first few months checking out grocery stores, wet markets, and hawker centers. I asked questions at restaurants and left disappointed. I researched blogs and articles only to find out the information was out of date. A year after arrival, I started a support group to connect gluten-free expats and locals with friends and resources. We have now been in Singapore for over 12 years. Sarah Pollock is a twenty-something-year-old traveler, creative, and spiritualist. She graduated with a degree in Business Information Systems (although she did not enjoy it) and a minor in Sustainability from the University of Florida. Since embarking on her first trip abroad to Australia and New Zealand at 15 years old, she has since visited 25 countries and counting- most of them solo.
