Amy Is Going Places
New Pro
Lives in Johnson City, TN, USA
US native. Former resident of Romania. Current solo female globe trotter. I've ventured to more than a dozen countries across four continents as part of group tours, volunteer work, solo travel, studying abroad, and teaching internationally. I lived for over a year in Romania, many years in Tennessee, and several months in England. My travel style is slow, spontaneous, and - shall we say - richly flavorful. I prefer to stay longer lengths in places instead of having a whirlwind sightseeing venture. I'll skip the chain restaurants for a hole-in-the-wall café any day of the week. I prefer a loose itinerary and remain open to what each day brings. My favorite things to do and see as I travel are... - EAT - Try whatever is local. Order the special of the day. Talk with the restaurant staff. - WALK - It encourages me to slow down, notice, and get a feel for community. - HIKE - I'm a lazy hiker. By "hike," I mean a few hours at a slow pace. - MUSEUMS - Spend an afternoon. Read the descriptions on exhibits. Talk with the docents. Buy something in the giftshop. - CHURCHES - I'm fascinated by the various ways people have worshipped the God of the Bible over centuries and across borders. Many older churches are also museums or tourist-friendly spaces. Some additionally hold regular liturgical services. - CASTLES - Castles, fortresses, palaces, big ol' houses: these places transport me back in time. I imagine the people who built, lived in, and defended them. What would they think of how we now live? If this kind of travel sounds ideal to you, hit the Contact Me button! Alecia Caine - Sweet Life Italy
Lives in Guardia Sanframondi, Province of Benevento, Italy
I discovered my passion for Italy as a young woman traveling thru the country where my grandmother grew up. I fell in love with the language, the food, the people and all things Italian. I guess you could say Italy is my soul mate. For my 50th birthday, after having raised two sons as a single mother, I bought myself an apartment in a medieval village in Southern Italy. My life changed and I created Sweet Life Italy, a boutique niche tour company to share my love of the Italian way of life, especially in the South, with its amazing scenery, down to earth food and the friendliest people on earth. I created Sweet Life Italy to inspire women to savor pleasure and rediscover their passions, awaken their senses and follow their dreams. I offer you the experience of discovering Italy through your senses, indulging in the tastes and textures that surround you.. Take time for time and attune to the local rhythm and energy of Italy while savoring the food, wines, music, art and beauty of Italy. Lounge in cafes, learn to make pasta by hand with the grandmothers, picnic amongst the grape vines on delicacies grown near the local villages. I am fortunate to enjoy very close relationships with the locals so I can offer travelers very unique experiences up close and personal, not like a tourist. I specialize in organizing your dream trip to Italy in the following locations: Naples, Rome, Florence, Venice, Tuscany, Campania, Gaeta, Amalfi Coast, Ischia and Guardia Sanframondi including transportation, accommodations, guided tours, cooking classes with the nonnas, wine tasting, foodie, history, art, nature tours.

But, you have to work through personal background details, stories about puppies and varuious types of flour; and then you get all those pop-up ads....well, my itineraries don't have all that "extra". They are just extra in their simplicity. Day-by-day itinerary with recommendations, insight, and a step-by-step guide. Simple. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." -Leonardo da Vinci
