I am a travel blogger, yoga teacher, and writer. I am originally Turkish (born in Istanbul) and Canadian. I have been living nomadically for over 7 years, working and adventuring in different corners of the world. I love slow and off the beaten path travel and look for unique local experiences wherever I go. I encourage everyone (and especially younger women) to do the same through my writing. Hi there, I am Sivan, a vegan & imperfect sustainable traveller. I like to visit off the tourist trail destinations, or if I do visit more popular destinations I like to do so as responsibly & sustainably as possible. I grew up in the Netherlands, lived in the UK for 16 years, and have lived in Marseille, France, for the last 4 years. I’ve also travelled to around 50 countries all around the world, and have meticulously planned all of them myself. Trip planning, is something I enjoy doing for myself, as well as for my family and friends, and is something I pride myself in. I do hours and hours of research making sure I find the best locally owned accomodation and immersive cultural experiences, to ensure I leave as much of a positive impact on my travels as I can. I mostly travel solo & once I get to my destination, I rely on public transport and overland travel as opposed to flying, where possible. Learning about the local culture & supporting local economies is important to me so I try and stay at either locally-owned guesthouses, homestays, or sustainable boutique hotels, and avoid big chain hotels or Airbnb. I also love looking for local vegan food wherever I go. Hi Thatchers, I’m a 25 yr old who started travelling as a teenager. From working my first job as a cashier as a teenager and saving everything to pay for a trip to India at 15, I have now travelled 16 countries, predominantly solo but also on group tours and with friends. When asked where my favourite place in the world I have to say the airplane and airports. I love the sense of unknown and the challenges that go with a different place. In my down time I enjoy being a nanny and studying my Masters in Teaching. I have loved exploring most of Eastern Australia from Rocky down to Tassie and out to the Desert at Birdsville. Danish, spontaneous, adventurous and down to earth. Hi ya! I have been traveling as much as I could since 2020 - Yep I started traveling the most during COVID. But you know what? It actually wasn't that bad. I got to live in England and France during COVID so even though it wasn't the best time to travel I decided to make lemonade ;) Since then I have done a few backpacking travels and I am currently in New Zealand. I love exploring new countries and learn about their culture. Besides that I am a sucker for sunsets and adrenalin filled experiences! I mostly travel like a fancy budgetter🥴 I don't have a lot of money to spend on fancy hotels, dinner outs or massages alle the time, BUT I think it is important to treat yourself and buy that fancy hotel if that's what you need and can afford. I have been using the most disgusting toilets, slept with cockroaches in a floating house, endured the worst thunder and lightning in a night bus and having the worst hangovers before going on a hike. All of this is surrealistic to look back on, but in that moment it just was like that. You can't really prepare to go take a shit in a hole almost standing up. It just happens if you really have to. - Sorry for the nasty images in your head. I'm just trying to say that traveling is to me so much more than just going to a beach with the clearest blue water or watching the sunset with a cocktail in your hand. I have personally evolved and exceeded limits I never thought I would have to all thanks to being able to travel to other countries. Even though I might've scared you a bit, I promise, it's all worth it. I'm here to help you through the good and the not as good parts of traveling to other countries, but first, I need to ensure that you're prepared, confident, courageous, enthusiastic, and ready to go get the world.
