I have lived abroad for a total of 10 years, in various countries including America, Curaçao, and Malaysia. When I returned to the Netherlands, I couldn't settle down anymore. For 5 years in the Netherlands, I thought about how I could create a life full of freedom for myself. It seemed impossible, but nothing could be further from the truth! In March 2023, I took the plunge: leaving my comfortable life in the Netherlands behind to explore the world as a Digital Nomad. Armed only with my laptop and a dream, I stepped into the unknown, and yes, it was scary! Especially giving up my house and my corporate job felt like a leap into the deep end. But I can tell you, it was worth every nerve-wracking second!

In particular, I love getting the feel of a city, living how the locals live and finding unknown hidden food gems. My style of travel can be described as "slow" and "easy-going". I don't enjoy checking off attractions like a checklist and that it is a must to visit everything in a set location. Rather than feel rushed, I'll selectively pick specific attractions; sometimes out of obligation of "did you really go to ___, if you didn't see ___" but also if there is some personal interest of mine. My travel style is solo female, group travel, low-budget, backpacker friendly and adventurous, that includes camping in the mountains or at beautiful beaches, doing sporty activities, exploring vibrant city nightlife and get to know locals with their food and culture. When I plan a trip, I love to research a lot, to be prepared for any kind of situation and also not to miss out on an amazing opportunity. I love surfing and often travel to test different beaches and spots. Our environment and nature is very important for me and I would always opt for slow and sustainable travel when possible. To most of the places in Europe I went by train or bus, so I know a lot of hacks and routes for this form of transport. I also don't eat meat, so testing all countries for their veggie foodie heavens!
