Hi! I'm Caterina, a marine biologist and diving instructor who is always seeking new adventures. Since 2013 thanks to my job I have had some of the best experiences of my life with my biggest lover: the Ocean. I spent 5 years working in the Maldives, where I stepped at least on one island in 16 atolls. Although I left the archipelago I preserve awesome memories about the country and I will be happy to share some tips if you need to plan your vacation in this tropical paradise! 2023, so far it has been a BLAST and I'm getting addicted to a traveling life, after 5 months of backpacking in SE Asia. Although born and raised in the US, I have lived in Rome nearly half my life. For me, this city is a muse, an inspiration, and a constant source of discovery. As a tour guide, I have spent over 15 years sharing the marvels of Rome with countless visitors, and as a travel consultant, I create detailed customized itineraries to help eager travelers discover Rome and Italy on a deeper level. My greatest adventures have included sailing the Strait of Malacca from Thailand to Malaysia, backpacking solo the entire length of India, deep-sea diving off the coast of Sumatra, criss-crossing Europe on a hunt for Caravaggio paintings, and road-tripping down the Pacific Coast Highway with my husband and little boy. Originally from LA, I've solo traveled to 56 countries at 27 years old. Most of my travels have revolved around South East Asia, Central America, Europe, Australia, and South America. I specialize in budget backpacking and slow travel. I focus my recommendations on adventure activities, nature, cultural experiences, local food, and nightlife. I've had tons of crazy experiences along my journey that has shaped me into the confident backpacker I am today. I want every person (but women especially!) to feel the joy and freedom that comes from solo traveling. I'll tell you the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm a high school librarian who loves traveling. When school is not in session, I am out exploring new places and activities.
